The runway look: Bright, graphic eyeliner at Denis Gagnon.

How to wear it: To pull this off in real life, go with a softened version of the look, says Amélie Ducharme, artistic director for makeup at MFW and CoverGirl makeup pro. Line your eyes with brown or black liner, and then using CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 4 Kit Eye Shadow in Tropical Fusion 205, use the turquoise or coral shadow and apply with an angle brush to line your eyes. Then smudge to blend the bright pop of colour with the brown/black liner. “Both colours complement all skin tones, but the aqua colour may suit blondes better, while the orange may be better on brunettes,” she says.

The look: The makeup at Melissa Nepton was a very wearable, everyday look.

How to create the eye look: Apply Cover Girl Smokey Shadow Blast in beige all over the lid and along bottom lashes. Then use the orange shade from Cover Girl 205 Tropical Fusion, almost up to the brow, finishing with a white pencil on the inner rim.

Tip: Smokey Shadow Blast did double duty at this show: Amélie Ducharme, artistic director for makeup at MFW and CoverGirl makeup pro, used the beige on the eyes and to highlight the top of the cheekbone.

The look: Using Snow White as inspiration, hair was given a modern, romantic twist at the Bodybag by Jude Fall 2011 fashion show.

Hairstyle how-to: Your hair should be clean and touchable, says Denis Binet, creative director for hair at Montreal Fashion Week. For fine hair, he recommends using Pantene Classic Style Gel and to tame frizzy hair for this style, use Pantene Medium-thick Hairstyle Creme instead. Then, starting with the the hair on the lower part of your scalp, divide hair into three sections and twist and secure up into place with bobby pins in a chignon shape. Next,  part your hair on the side and create three twists with the upper part of your mane and secure with bobby pins. “Make sure to keep the twists fairly tight and close to the head–with more volume and looseness, it can start to look grandmotherly,” says Denis.

The runway look: Dark and edgy smokey eyes and nude, skintone lips.

How to wear it: To pull off this look in real life, don’t extend the eyeshadow as low under the eye, says Amélie Ducharme, artistic director for makeup at MFW and CoverGirl makeup pro. “And add some colour to your lips for a healthier look–but keep the eyes as the focus.”
