We are huge Bobbi Brown fans here at Lipstick Powder N Paint. And, we are gals who want to look our best, but without too much fuss. This January, Bobbi has launched her Makeup Face Lift Collection, which allows us to instantly brighten our face and play up our eyes with just a few simple tweaks. Fantastic!

Try something fresh for spring from the The Body Shop‘s new Roseflower makeup collection. Innovative textures, pretty colours and a soft rose scent are present throughout the line. Skin caring ingredients are paired with Community Trade ingredients, like marula nut oil from Namibia and shea butter from Ghana, for excellent results. Tarte Cosmetics is putting their best foot forward when it comes to creating green products. Their Spring Greening Reusable Straw Palette definitely fits with their motto, “Be Green, Be Smart, Be Tarte,” found on their home page. Six bold mineral eye shadows and three soft and sparkly t5 super fruit complex lip glosses are housed in a cute little zippered case made from sustainable straw, and ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) foam, a post-consumer recycled material. There is even a little brush, with a bamboo handle, to apply the eye shadow. When you’re finished with the beauty products, you can easily remove the tray and reuse the straw case and brush. (more…)

Inspired by Gabrielle Chanel’s gypsy dress designs from the 1930s, Peter Philips, Global Creative Makeup Director for Chanel, wanted to reinterpret the language of the vagabond beauty and project it into the future. “The gypsy is a heroine with very distinctive beauty codes,” states Philips.  Chanel’s Spring 2009 Collection, Bohemian Fantasy, is all about dark eyes and fiery lips.
