Take 5: Eye Creams

Eyes give away your age and they certainly give away the number of hours you managed to sleep last night, so it is important to keep them in top form. Eye cream is the prefect weapon against dry, puffy, dark and lined looking peepers. Applying eye cream twice a day to clean skin makes such a difference. So, slather away! (more…)

Vichy Laboratoires Lipidiose Nutritive Fluid for Body Vichy Laboratoires Lipidiose Nutritive Fluid for Body is yoga for the skin.

This white, gel-like lotion rubs in easily and absorbs quickly so you don’t have to wait for it to dry before putting on your most fashionable frock or fav leggings.

The high tech formula leaves you hydrated for 48 hours by dealing with dryness two ways – boosting surface moisture and energizing sluggish cellular activity.

Skin’s flexibility is improved after just one week – if only we could say the same about our bodies after one week of yoga.

Its light scent is boyfriend friendly, but you won’t want to share!

Vichy Capital Soleil After Sun Cellular SOS Repair Balm. The sun is shining, the days are hot and spending time outside is all we want to do. Soaking up the rays all day calls for some serious sunscreen application, but sometimes, no matter how much we apply and re-apply, burns have a way of sneaking up on us. They turn our skin into a shade more likened to a lobster than that beautiful sun kissed glow we were going for!

More than just calming down our burning skin, we need to repair it and that’s where Vichy Laboratories comes in. Taking into consideration the process of the sun’s rays penetrating through different layers of our skin, ruining our protective cells and making sunburns visible, they created the Vichy Capital Soleil After Sun Cellular SOS Repair Balm.

This specially designed formula works to repair damage by restoring the skin’s cellular defense capital. What’s also unique is the epilobe extract ingredient which sooths over-exposed, painful and red skin by penetrating deeply and relieving you from pain.

Be generous in your application over the affected areas for about four or five days and before you know it you’ll turn your accidental lobster glow into a beautiful bronzed tan.

Q: hi! as a beauty reader that enjoys your blog very much I have a question for you. Whilst going through shoppers drug I happened to notice the Reversa 3-1 Cleanser stuck down below and well hidden away. My question is this I am having problems finding anything about this product and because I need to change the skincare routine I am using (being older you need to change products because they become less effective as you age, I am 53) do know anything about this line? thankx shazza

A: Well thanks Shazza for your question. It is true that your skin is a little different than from your 40s. In your 50s skin starts to show character. As you enter menopause, your skin may feel thinner and more fragile. You may notice more wrinkles and a paler overall skin tone.
Some tips are:
- Hydration is so important. Use a rich, protective moisturizer. Apply a nutrient rich night cream before bed.
- Use a creamy cleanser to assist in hydration of the skin.
- Exfoliate to clear dead skin cells but avoid harsh abrasives.

With regards to Reversa, this brand is manufactured in Canada by Dermtek Pharmaceuticals Ltd and is available at drugstores. I have never tried these products but did some research and everything I read was good. Here is an article I found written by Karen Hall, a well respected journalist. I even found that the Reversa Corrective Night Cream was one one of the top 100 best in Chatelaine’s 2006 Best of Beauty.

Other skincare lines you may wish to take a look at are:

L’Oreal Age Perfect
Olay Regenerist
Dermaglow Nuvectin and
Vichy Liftactiv

Let me know if this is helpful!
