Women in their 20s have dramatically different skin than women in their 40s. Needs and issues vary by generation, which is why it is so important to have a skincare routine that promotes the healthiest results.

Q: So, I was just wondering if you had any recommendations for good quality lotions and/or hand cremes. I wash my hands quite a bit and have had trouble finding a product that can stand up to numerous hand scrubbings. Any experience in this area?
T.G.
A: Well T.G. I am like you and fanatic about keeping my hands clean. It is important to keep your hands hydrated so I would recommend applying lotion after every washing. Keep a lotion by your sink, in your bag, in your desk drawer and I always apply lotion at bedtime so that the cream can really get into my skin whilst I am sleeping.
There are a huge amount of creams and lotions on the market and it can be a little confusing. I actually have a couple of favourites that I can recommend:
Vaseline Intensive Care Healthy Hand & Nail Revitalizing Hand Lotion
This is a really fast absorbing cream that makes your hands hydrated and your nails stronger.
Contains keratin and vitamin E. Small size is perfect for your purse or bedside table.
$3.79 USD $4.99 CAD
Principessa Cattiva Diva
I absolutely love anything made by Principessa. Their silky hand cream is lovely and smells to die for. If you are looking for a perfumed hand cream then this is the perfect one for you.
$16 USD $18 CAD
Bliss High Intensity Hand Cream
This rich cream really softens and smooths your hands and cuticles. On the higher price range I enjoy this cream. It has a citrus fragrance that is quite fresh.
$18 USD $23 CAD
L’Occitane Lavender Hand Cream
A little pricey but pure luxury. I absolutely love the smell of lavender and if you do too then this is a great hand cream. Blends the nourishing benefits of Shea Butter with soothing A.O.C. lavender essential oil and rosemary extract. Also contains vitamin E.
$20 USD $20 CAD
