As far as moisturizers go, when we see the words jojoba and cocoa butter printed on the label we get a little excited. Bonus points if they start listing vitamins. So, Olay Quench Mousse-Deep Moisture – with Aquacurrent Science technology – tends to win us over quite effortlessly. After revamping the formula of their incredibly successful moisturizer, Quench, they’ve gone the extra mile by marrying portability and lightweight application. For girls who loathe applying heavy cream but demand intense moisture, all the benefits from the original lotion are here. It’s especially handy for tossing in your gym bag, as there won’t be any spillage or bursting, and it dries surprisingly quickly after application.

What is the #1 beauty trend at TIFF this season? Is it deep-coloured, pouty lips? Could it be the longest, lushest lashes? Perhaps super-sculpted cheeks? It’s actually none of these things: the answer is flawless, luminous skin.
We need to glow like a superstar this week at TIFF but our skin isn’t looking as fresh and young as it used to. As we age, a lack of – or an uneven distribution of – melanin, haemoglobin and collagen affects how light is reflected off skin. The result is an increase in age spots, spider veins, blotchiness and discolouration.

There are many things that I love about the Holidays: eggnog lattes from Starbucks (aren’t they good?!) gingerbread men, and dressing my poor Pugs up as Santa’s little helpers. But there is one more thing – beauty gift set. I get excited when I visit department stores and see their gorgeous perfume gift sets and I have to leave my credit card at home when I visit the drugstore, due to the incredible skincare sets they carry.
Well here is a beauty gift set that I think you’ll like…
The Olay Holiday Gift Set features a selection of products to help us gals feel and look our best under the mistletoe. Includes: Foaming Face Wash, Refreshing Toner and Classic Moisturizing Lotion.
Santa, I’ve been a good girl, so please leave one under the tree for me.

Q: hi! as a beauty reader that enjoys your blog very much I have a question for you. Whilst going through shoppers drug I happened to notice the Reversa 3-1 Cleanser stuck down below and well hidden away. My question is this I am having problems finding anything about this product and because I need to change the skincare routine I am using (being older you need to change products because they become less effective as you age, I am 53) do know anything about this line? thankx shazza
A: Well thanks Shazza for your question. It is true that your skin is a little different than from your 40s. In your 50s skin starts to show character. As you enter menopause, your skin may feel thinner and more fragile. You may notice more wrinkles and a paler overall skin tone.
Some tips are:
- Hydration is so important. Use a rich, protective moisturizer. Apply a nutrient rich night cream before bed.
- Use a creamy cleanser to assist in hydration of the skin.
- Exfoliate to clear dead skin cells but avoid harsh abrasives.
With regards to Reversa, this brand is manufactured in Canada by Dermtek Pharmaceuticals Ltd and is available at drugstores. I have never tried these products but did some research and everything I read was good. Here is an article I found written by Karen Hall, a well respected journalist. I even found that the Reversa Corrective Night Cream was one one of the top 100 best in Chatelaine’s 2006 Best of Beauty.
