Red Hot Lips

Red lipstick is timeless, and an instant confidence booster. It also seems to be the hottest thing going at the moment. Stars like Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani and Rachel McAdams have been spotted wearing it, and it adorned the lips of models at a lot of the spring/summer 2009 runway shows.

The great thing about this Hollywood look is that everyone can pull it off. You have to match your skin tone to the right shade of red and keep the rest of your makeup simple for the look to really pop. Fair skinned beauties who burn easily should go for a true red and those with darker skin and hair can wear warmer reds, the deeper shades. (more…)

Getting Even

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Advanced Revitalift Cream Cleanser When it comes to anti-aging, we’re often overwhelmed. We know that sunscreen is non-negotiable and that smoking isn’t cool, but with the selection of peels, moisturizers, exfoliators and serums flooding the marketplace we’re in need of some simple navigation. Luckily, L’Oréal Paris simplifies the process. From its new line, Advanced Revitalift Cream Cleanser and Anti-Wrinkle Concentrate, we’re asked to do two simple things—cleanse and moisturize.

You won’t need a lot of this super creamy cleanser, because it foams easily. After a quick rinse, your skin doesn’t feel tight but is left slightly dewy, prepped and ready for the serum.

After very diligent use (and a thorough examination) our skin felt a heck of a lot smoother to the touch. The tone had evened out, and it wasn’t oily or dry—it was just right. We’ve even skipped wearing foundation for a whole week. It looks like we’re onboard.

We change them without real commitment whenever the mood strikes, which is a good thing considering that women change their minds more often than they change their shoes. We have tested five of the most popular brands to find the best of the best for your lips.
