The stars are pouring into Toronto as we write this post. It’s time for the Toronto International Film Festival, or TIFF as peeps in the know call it.
We will be attending a few fun events over the next couple of days (yes, we’ll give you the scoop). And of course one MUST have red carpet-ready hands. So, we of course went to the salon with the nail know-how, Tips Nail Bar, where we got an AH-MAY-ZING CND Shellac mani.
Here is how our Chanel-esq mani was created:
Step 1: CND Shellac base coat was applied and cured for 10 seconds.
Step 2: One coat of CND’s new fall Shellac shade, Overtly Onyx was applied and cured for 2 minutes.
Step 3: A second coat of Overtly Onyx was applied but not cured.
Step 4: CND Additives (pure pigments) in Green Gold Sparkle and Antique Bronze were applied to the nail using a small fluffy brush (like an eye shadow blending brush – MAC 217) in a stippling motion. The nail was then cured for 2 minutes.
Step 5: Top coat applied and cured for 2 minutes. Tacky film removed with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol.
It is important to note that delicious flakey pastries should not be consumed until after your top coat is applied and cured. Otherwise you will have particles of, perhaps croissants or danishes, in your manicure. We know this because it happened to us. We were hungry, what were we supposed to do?
