It seems that the world has gone Hunger Games crazy. And we’re a little embarrassed to say that we actually don’t know too much about this story and haven’t read Suzanne Collin’s popular novel. SORRY.
What we do know is that the super-talented and Oscar nominated actress (Winter’s Bone) Jennifer Lawrence is the film’s main character, Katniss Everdeen. That alone will make us go and check out the Hunger Games.
The Hunger Games premiered in LA on March 12th, and the 21-year-old actress looked sensational in a gold Prabal Gurung dress, Jimmy Choo shoes and Jacob & Co. black diamond earrings. Celebrity makeup artist and Avon Global Creative Color Director Jillian Dempsey (yes, that’s McDreamy’s wife!) worked with the starlet to create a gorgeous red carpet look.
Dempsey put the focus on Jennifer’s stunning eyes (what colour are they?) by lining them with Laura Mercier’s Caviar Eyeliner in Black and then layering a gold eyeshadow on the actress’s lids (try using the gold shadow in Avon’s True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Earth Tones). Using a featherbrush, Jillian blended the edges of the liner with the gold shadow. Merging the two textures and colours helped create a multidimensional effect that appeared as a sparkling black. By darkening Jennifer’s brows, Jillian further accentuated the eyes and framed her face.
To create Jennifer’s sunkissed glow, Jillian used her new Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Perfect Contour Powder in Blissful to sculpt cheeks first, then layered a custom mix of two peachy cream blushes on top – Avon Be Blushed Cheek Color in Tropical Peach and Stila Convertible Color in Peony. This created Jennifer’s overall soft, warm complexion. For a finishing touch, Jillian opted for a nude lip — she applied Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Lip Stain in Coral Aquatique and then swiped on a nude lipstick, Avon Ultra Color Rich Moisture Seduction by Avon in Nude Perfection, to achieve a creamy texture.
What do you think of Jennifer Lawrence’s red carpet beauty look? Will you try to recreate it?
