Blue Bagging It

Tiffany Avenue Shopper in leopard haircalf in camel with Tiffany Blue leather trim

Move over little blue box, now there’s a blue bag.

Luxury designers Richard Lambertson and John Truex, whose collective resumes include Gucci, Bergdorf Goodman, Barney’s, Calvin Klein and Geoffrey Beene, are the names behind Tiffany & Co.’s new leather line, launched in Canada this fall.

The bags pay homage to the jeweler with their classic shapes and nods to Tiffany blue in the linings and enamel accents.

Studded nappa-leather Vivian bags ($1,100 – $1,400), and satin Bracelet bags ($875) with rhodium-plated platimum bobble-handles are like carrying pieces of jewellery, while the satin Camille clutch ($1,300) actually features a crystal rendition of a diamond brooch from the archives.

The Tiffany Avenue Shopper ($1,750), in leopard-print calfhair, is as wild as the collection gets in Canada. (You can find exotic skins in stores Stateside.) The Reversible tote ($435 – $655), suede on one side and metallic leather on the other, is like two bags in one, complete with detachable wallet.

Tiffany & Co. Genevieve satchel

Tiffany Canada vp Andrea Hopson loves them all but for every day, the structured Genevieve satchel ($1,950) is her favourite. In pleated burgundy and onyx nappa “it’s chic and sophisticated,” she says, pointing out the compartments and illustrating how you can opt to open only one side at a time. Andrea, we love that bag too!

Card cases, luggage tags, cellphone cases and, for fun, a Little Black Book and Little Blue Book are also available. It’s a Tiffany-o-holic’s dream!

Available at the downtown Bloor Street store in Toronto and the Vancouver store. www.tiffany.com or 1.800.265.1251.

    Thanks Elizabeth for your comment.

These bags are definitely investment pieces. The workmanship honestly makes them worth the price tag. Promise :)
