It’s time to indulge in a pedi – whether at home or in the salon - and get those tootsies ship-shape and ready to sport the trendiest sandals of the summer.
Gladiator
Variations on this trend allow gladiators to appear season-after-season yet remain hotter than ever. Fortunately, this time around, the unflattering lace-up-the-leg is replaced by a more wearable flat version. We love the hint of toughness that this black leather & grommet number offers.
Graz, $150. Available at Ecco.
Wedges
The height of a stiletto with the stability of a flat; yes please! Beware that super-fitted pants may cause your feet to appear clunky, so choose a skirt, dress or shorts with bit of volume and stick to straight-leg and boot cuts pants. The flipside? Wedges also serve to elongate the leg and make the ankle appear thinner.
Naomi, $295. Available from Ron White.
Leather & Wood
Not interested in this year’s ever-popular clog? Then opt for a leather and wood sandal that takes the best bits of the clog (in our opinion) but is more flattering and easy to wear. And you’re less likely to be sick of them come the end of summer.
Granada, $170. Available from Geox.
Embellished
With the release of Sex & the City 2, (which saw our fave four film in Marrakesh) we love all things colourful and embellished and this affordable option delivers on both.
Circle Bead Sandal, $19.50. Available from Old Navy.
Low Heel
Is it true that this a more wearable heel is the height du jour? Yes says a recent article in Vogue. While we won’t suggest that you toss your towering heels just yet, this is a trend that we gladly embrace.
Chance Heels, $120. Available from Banana Republic.
