Gillette has given its popular Fusion razor a makeover, further upgrading the comfort factor with multiple features, including new rinse-through slots and a comb guard along the comfort strip to guide stubble into the blades. “It has a sharper blade than a surgeon’s scalpel,” according Gillette spokesperson David Ramos. And besides delivering a great shave, one of the razor’s major selling points has to be the fact that it rinses perfectly clean in about one second. No tapping, no five minutes of running hot water to dull the blades, no soap left to dry in the blades to screw up the next shave. Interestingly, of the 1.7 billion men in the world that shave, 600 million of them look to Gillette for one or more grooming aids, adds Ramos.
Speaking of which, the line of products launching to support the Fusion ProGlide mirrors the research that goes into the razor, all in the name of a more comfortable shave, especially for men who have problems.
There’s a Sensitive Face Wash, soap-free and souped up with aloe, as well as an Intense Cooling Lotion to finish off. But the highlight is definitely the Thermal Scrub, which heats up on contact with water before it clears skin of oil and dirt, and exfoliates dead skin cells. The effect of the instant heat is quite amazing. “Imagine the barbershop and the hot towel, and the warmth and comfort that provides,” says Ramos. He’s right.
