Chanel‘s Christmas 2009 Makeup Collection was inspired by a small golden cage adorned with turquoise-coloured stones, encasing two tiny birds with emerald eyes and bodies of white pearls, owned by Coco Chanel at her apartment in Paris. Charmed by this singular object, Peter Philips, Global Creative Makeup Director of CHANEL Makeup, decided to make it the theme of this stunning collection. An original collection, designed like an exquisite flight of exotic colours, enhanced by refined textures.
The star product in this line entitled Cage Dorée de Chanel, is this shimmering, twinkling highlighter—Les Tissages Lamés de Chanel ($69), a subtle monochrome of bronze and gold to enhance the complexion.
The limited-edition four-colour eyeshadow quad—Les 4 Ombres ($61) in Bird of Paradise houses a slightly iridescent mallard blue, a copper with rust reflections, a pale yellow, like a ray of sunlight in winter, and finally a khaki green, the ultimate chameleon colour.
La Ligne de Chanel ($47), the powder-based eyeliner duo enables every woman to achieve the perfectly lined eye without mistakes. Holiday sees the latest colour, Celadon-Lamé, a duo of green “Celadon”, a dark, matte monochromatic green, and “Lamé”, a satiny green.
Aqualumière ($33), a Lipstick Powder N Paint fave, is available in Grenada, a light fruity red; Tasmania, a rosy peach accent; Galapagos, a pale dawn pink; and Maldives, a tropical coral. Dazzel those lips a little more this holiday with Chanel’s Aqualumière Gloss ($31) in Hirondelle, a delicate candy pink shade.
Chanel’s limited-edition nail polish, Le Vernis in Trapèze ($26), a rosy beige with silver reflections, transforms the nails into rare pearls.
Available at Chanel beauty counters across Canada and the U.S.
