Lipstick Powder N Paint wants you to be beautiful ‑ inside and out ‑ and the best way to do that is to make sure you have all your questions answered by true beauty experts. Every Monday, our experts will be answering your questions about skincare, makeup, hair and oral health.
Today’s expert is Sara Whittaker, National Director of Education for Clinique Canada.
Through innovative training programs and tools, Sara Whittaker, National Director of Education, inspires, develops and guides the national team of Clinique skincare and makeup experts to deliver the highest level of beauty knowledge and service to women across Canada.
With over 25 years experience in the cosmetic industry, Sara represents Clinique at all major North American dermatology conventions where she collaborates and shares information with physicians from around the world. Because she’s as comfortable reading skin science journals as she is reading Vogue, Sara’s beauty expertise and talent does not go unnoticed by others in industry. She is frequently quoted in Canada’s top media, and is a regular guest on television’s CityLine program.
“It’s important for me to believe that the service and expertise we provide actually have an impact on skin appearance as well as the psyche,” Sara says. “Clinique isn’t hope in a jar, but products that deliver visible differences to the skin.”
Today’s question is one we’ve all probably wondered at some point…
Q: I never wore sunscreen (I know, so bad) until about year ago. Is there anything I can do to combat the sunspots I have?
A: Yes there is something you can do! There are excellent products available that actually help fade dark sun spots. However, you MUST use broad-spectrum sun protection daily. I can’t stress enough how important this is in preventing hyperpigmentation in the first place. Then, try using a product like Clinique Even Better Skin Tone Corrector combined with Even Better Skin Tone Correcting Moisturizer SPF 20 which actually work to fade discolouration, prevent the dark spots from expanding, and prevent future damage. Used together you will see a difference in 4 weeks!
