She got discouraged using glittery makeup as it made a mess while applying it on her many clients. Determined to find a solution, she decided she would develop a sparkle formula that would work effortlessly. She soon created her own line of glitter makeup, which has garnered a cult-like following from celebrities (including Carmen Electra, Alicia Keys and Christina Aguilera) and makeup junkies alike. We wait with baited breath each week to find out what kind of trouble the men and women of Madison Avenue’s advertising agency, Sterling Cooper, will get in to. We love the sleek ‘dos created by Odile Gilbert for Aveda, at the RODARTE Fall/Winter 2009 show at New York Fashion Week. 

“I wanted to create something wearable but unique for the modern, 2009 girl. The shapes are simple but the texture is complex. Like the collection, which plays with fabric and texture, the hair is sleek in front with an architectural, modern chignon in back.” Gilbert explains. (more…)
