2008 Holiday Beauty: Seasonal Glow

Shimmer Powders

Shimmer powder might be one of the most versatile things in your makeup bag. A small dusting will accentuate cleavage, add definition to cheek bones, lift tired eyes, narrow the nose, add a dewy glow to skin and pump up your pout.

For an all over glow, swirl a big powder brush into the compact and sweep the shimmer over your forehead, nose, cheek bones and chin. The most important thing to remember when you are applying powder is to use light, fluid movements. It is harder to remove the excess than to add a little more.

There is such a thing as too much sparkle. Be sure to use it sparingly and avoid applying it in areas with lines and wrinkles. The powder will settle in these areas and make them more noticeable.

I agree, shimmer powder is a year-round essential. Also, skin brighteners are an easy on-the-go alternative as well if you don’t want to carry a compact and brush with you. These are great picks and the compacts are so sleek and pretty!
