Brush strokes

Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue Gel Eyeliner Let’s face it – applying liquid eyeliner can often be trying. But, if you can get it just right, it makes all the difference. The latest slew of gel-based eyeliners make application a whole lot easier, thanks to their smooth consistency.

We can’t seem to get enough of Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue Gel Eyeliner in Brown. While we’d normally default to inky black for a dramatic night out, the shade is deep enough to indulge our inner Liz Taylor (circa Cleopatra). If you make a mistake, you can easily step backwards and wipe it away with a cotton swab because the formula stays wet for 30 seconds. If you’d like another layer, it’s easy to paint it on, because the teensy brush (which comes with the liner) helps create the most precise lines. We’re also fans of the brand’s Color Intrigue Eyeshadow Duo in Illusion - a perfect pairing of shades to help create the classic smoky eye. We suspect Ms. Taylor would agree.

I love gel eyeliners. Right now my two favorite brands are Aromaleigh’s indelible gel eyeliners and MAC’s fluidline. I’ve also tried the L’Oreal HIP line but they smudged like crazy on me, which was too bad because the colors were pretty.

I’ll have to check out the Elizabeth Arden.

I’m also loving the gel liners. I have always been terrified to attempt to pull off a liquid liner look. To be honest, whenever I tried, I felt ridiculous. But, then I discovered MAC’s Fluid Line and with the guidance of a friend (who the reigning queen of beauty and cosmetic how-to) I now find it easy to get the liquid liner look without the liquid liner fuss.

    Thanks for another option!
