Q: I was curious about Bourjois cosmetics and was wondering if you or anyof your readers have any opinions about the brand? I love the history of the company but I was hoping to hear someone’s personal experience before I make the plunge and buy some! Megan

A: Thanks for the question Megan. I was first introduced to Bourjois when I was growing up in England. I was a teenager and was drawn to the colourful packaging. Since then I always have at least one Bourjois product in my makeup bag.

Ombre A Paupières is the name of their baked eyeshadow and it can be worn wet or dry. This was the first item I bought and it’s still a top seller.

Their signature blush is fantastic and has been around since 1863. These pretty shades provide a wonderful healthy glow to skin. This was another item that I purchased for the first time when I was…young-er

I could go on. Bourjois has a large selection of products and if you are able to get to a Sephora, go and play with the product and see what you like.

Hey Megan and Ellen -

I used to try a lot of Bourjois products back in the day when I worked at the cosmetics counters. Their eyeshadows are really versatile since you can wear them wet or dry. For a more subtle look, you can use them dry and of course, if you’re looking for a more pigmented shadow or a more dramatic look, use it wet. I find they they are much easier to blend when you use them wet also.

I’ve also tried their Coup de Theatre double-sided mascara. One side has these white fibers that sort of attach onto your natural lashes to create the illusion of longer lashes. And the other side is the color – it comes in 4 shades so you can find something that matches for coloring everyday.

Overall, it’s a really fun brand and I think you should give them a try!

Hi there,

I’m in my thirties and have combination skin; it’s a catch-22 as face powder tends to age me. But I love, love, love their anti-shine blotting sheets!

They work far better than you would expect for a matte finish and the effect is both natural and long lasting. I always keep a couple stuffed in different bags!

Bonjour! I’m Mademoiselle Bourjois and i absolutly LOVE Bourjois! They are mostly known in the USA for their mascara and lip gloss (not to say their other products aren’t wonderful too!!) They have a mascara for everyone and every occasion! I recomend their newest Volume Glamour ULTRA BLACK (it even comes in a mini size for on-the-go application!) They also have 3 different formulas of lip gloss. Effet 3D is their standard award winning gloss (it too comes in mini size to attach to your phone or camera). Eau de Gloss (water gloss) is a super hydrating and NON STICK gloss. Then there is La Creme lipgloss that has the coverage of a lipstick, the nourishment of a balm, and the shine of a gloss.
