Great Facial Cleansers

Tuesday, April 10, 2007

April is skincare month here at Lipstick, Powder ‘n Paint and today I wanted to share with you some great cleansers that are on the market.

There are so many different skincare products for sale that it can be really confusing which one to buy. I am always very nervous of trying a new products as my skin is really sensitive – so once I find a product I love I am very hesitant to change. Blog for Beauty wrote a great piece on choosing the right cleanser for you and if you have the time, I recommend taking a peep at it.

Here are a selection of very good cleansers that you can find at the drugstore or at your local spa:

Aveeno Positively Ageless Daily Exfoliating Cleanser

A light foaming, soap free cleanser. It is clinically shown to exfoliate and replenish surface cells faster so your skin looks and feels younger. The fine micro-beads in this cleanser gently remove the dull, dry skin that prevents younger, fresher cells from showing through.

This cleansing and softening cream, naturally rich in marine active agents, quickly eliminates makeup and impurities.
$27.50 USD $34.00 CAD

Skincode Purifying Cleansing Gel

Spa Aquatique 1.1 Regenerating Cleansing Milk
Skin Types: All, especially for aged-damaged skin
This product gently removes traces of make-up, cleanses impurities and prepares the skin to receive other marine treatments.
From the European Collection at Walgreens
$20.00 USD

Red Water Face Foaming Gel with Green Tea
Skin Types: All
This mild foaming cleanser hydrates, tones and mollifies the skin.

$20.00 USD

Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash
Skin Types: All
A 2-in-1 rinse-off cleansing and exfoliating gel that leaves skin clean, hydrated and fresh.
$18.00 USD $23.00 CAD

There are of course hundreds of other cleansers to choose from. I would suggest that you speak to friends, do research on forums and/or speak to an esthetician or dermatologist to find out products might be good for your skin type.

I’d love to hear what your favourite cleansers are!

I am now off to wash my face!

I’m totally with you when it comes to being hesitant about switching facial cleansers once you’ve found one that works. It’d take a huge sum of money for someone to convince me to switch! It’s funny that I’m so loyal to facial products when I’m totally disloyal when it comes to most other beauty products.

You must try Purity from Philosophy. I will never change it from my routine.

Great recommendations. One of my all-time favorite cleansers is Korres 3-in-1 Milk Proteins. I apply it to my face ‘dry’ and it softens, removes makeup and leaves my skin soft. And like you, my skin reacts very easily, especially to cleansers. I can’t wait to try some of yours.

Oooh, I LOVE that Dermalogica cleanser. It’s pricey, but it’s amazing. I’m almost out, and am dreading having to switch, so I might have to pony up for another bottle!
