I was at a shopping party in November and received a sample of ‘Ah Choo Flu’ from Smell This! Aromatherapy. This essential oil blend is part of their Remedy synergy collection and contains lavender, peppermint, tea tree and eucalyptus (and smells divine too). As you might have already guessed from the name, this product is said to help keep those winter bugs away and with it being that time of year, we can use all the help we can get!
Arline Trividic is a certified aromatherapist and the owner of Smell This! Aromatherapy. She is dedicated to promoting and educating clients in the use of high quality essential oils and aromatherapy products. Smell This! promise that every product contains pure essential therapeutic grade oils, as well as pure and natural base oils. No chemicals or harmful preservatives are used and they deal only with ethical, environmentally conscious growers.
All of Smell This! Aromatherapy synergies are available in a 10ml bottle of pure undiluted essential oil blend $6.50 CAD or a 10ml diluted roll-on bottle $10.70 CAD.

NARS have just launched their brand new Makeup Primer that has an SPF of 20 and PA++.
PA stands for protection grade of UVA (tanning, darkening, aging rays). The highest level of PA is +++, this means you will not get tanned or basically will not be exposed to 99% of the UVA, so PA+++ is saying: “you will not get tanned from this and if you wear it starting when you’re young you won’t get any UV-induced wrinkles”. skingeek.com
This primer is similar to the original - it is the perfect canvas for long-wearing foundation with a natural appearance. It promises to hydrate and assist in easing the signs of inflammation and redness, whilst improving skin texture.
This primer can be worn under foundation, powder or alone. I will be popping over to Holt Renfrew to see if they have this item as I’d love to try it.
$33.00USD for 1.7 Fl. Oz. 50 mL

Have you tried the new Herbal Essences line? I usually go for salon brands but was encouraged to try the revamped Clairol products.
I was a little nervous as I haven’t had many good experiences with drugstore type brands – they usually dry my hair out, but thought I’d give them a go. I have been using the ‘Totally Twisted’ shampoo and conditioner for curls and wavy hair. It smells so good - french lavender, which is one of my favourite scents. My curls are defined and not frizzy. My hair feels soft and looks shiny.
I decided to try another collection from the group and just purchased the ‘Color Me Happy’ for colour treated hair. This one smells very fruity and says that it has a fusion of acai berries and satin extracts. I find that using these products is quite relaxing in the shower, as the scents are almost therapeutic. The ‘Color Me Happy’ products are excellent too and my hair is looking great.
The old Herbal Essences had 13 different shampoos, 13 conditioners and 16 styling products – a little confusing! The new Herbal Essences focus on finding the ‘collection’ to suit your hair type and needs. If you go to their website and answer 5 simple questions, a shampoo, conditioner and corresponding styling product will be recommended for you.
In total there are 9 collections:
Body Envy – Full & Voluminzed
Break’s Over – Strong & Healthy
Color Me Happy – Bright & Radiant
Dangerously Straight – Straight & Sleek
Drama Clean – Fresh & Clean
Hello Hydration – Hydrated & Silky
None of your Frizziness – Frizz Controlled & Smooth
Set Me Up - To hold its look with shine
Totally Twisted – Curly & Manageable
When you visit the website, check out all the helpful information and tips they have. Styling videos, hot hair trends and even hairdresser lingo are some of the items you will find here.
